Ildiko Muresan and Flavia Marele are both Romanian artists. They were born in 1980, Ildiko in Ocna-Mures, Flavia in Beius. They both live and work in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, Romania. They studied art at the Art and Design University, Cluj-Napoca. Ildiko studied graphics (1999-2003) and Flavia studied photography (2000-2004) and in 2006 she obtained a Master Degree in Art at the same university. Beginning with 2003 they started working together as a creative mix, Harem6. At first they made digital photography combined with hand drawing. Between 2006 – 2010 Harem6 had personal and group exhibitions at Anaid Art Gallery, Bucharest, Romania. In 2007 Harem6 was (represented by Anaid Art Gallery) at the International Art Fair for Contemporary Art, Cologne, Germany and in 2008 at the International Art Fair for Contemporary Art and Photography, Berlin, Germany, at both fairs they exhibited digital photography. The photographs of  Harem6 were published in “Le Monde Diplomatique”, I, no.9, December 2006, “Le Monde Diplomatique”, II, no.16, Julie 2007, “Observator Cultural”, no.169, 12-18 June 2008. After a while they started looking for new directions in their art. At the beginning of 2009, they started making sculptures. After trying several materials, they developed their own formula. This material gives them the freedom to experience all kind of shapes, widening their perspective in the art field. They also use a graphic pencil, colored pencils and acrylic paint. These three dimensional objects were meant to be a substitute for paper. Flavia also started drawing, as her first love was also drawing. In 2011 Harem6 participated with sculptures in two group exhibitions at Art Yourself Gallery, Bucharest, Romania. In 2012 their drawings were part of The Morran Book Project, a collective art project initiated by artist Camila Engman.
